Zutaten
- 225 shelled walnuts
- 100 g sugar
- 450 g vegetable oil
- 3 tbs sesame seeds (optional)
Zubereitung
- Bring a pan of water to the boil. Add the walnuts and cook for about 10 minutes to blanch them .
- Drain the nuts in a sieve, then pat dry with kitchen paper and spread them on a baking tray . Sprinkle the sugar over the walnuts and roll them around to cover them completely. Place the tray into a cool place for at least 2 hours, better over night.
- Heat the oil in a deep fat fryer to a moderate heat.
- Fry a batch of nuts for about 2 minutes or until the sugar melts and the walnuts turn brown.
- Remove the walnuts from the oil with a drainer. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
- Lay the nuts on a nonstick baking tray to cool.
